Speech Language and Hearing Center

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Speech, Language and Hearing Center has been serving the Acadiana area for more than 60 years. Annually, we provide more than 10,000 hours of speech, language, and hearing services to a wide variety of individuals with communication challenges and differences.

The UL Lafayette Speech, Language and Hearing Center plays an integral role in the training of graduate and upper level undergraduate students in the Department of Communicative Disorders. Our primary purpose is to prepare graduate students for certification and careers as speech language pathologists while providing state-of-the-art services to individuals from our community.

Our students assess and provide intervention to a diverse population of clients under the supervision of nationally certified and licensed speech language pathologists. Our clientele cross the life span and represent the diversity of our community.  All prospective clients from our community are welcomed.

The Speech, Language, and Hearing Center serves as a resource for ongoing faculty research which provides our clients the most current and proven methods of clinical practice. Services are provided in one-on-one, small group, and larger group settings. See a full list of our services.

Partners in Care: The Southwestern Regional Scottish Rite Childhood Learning Center

The Scottish Rite, through their RiteCare Clinics, has provided speech, language and hearing therapy services to under-resourced children throughout the United States as part of their charity services since the 1950s. The Louisiana Scottish Rite Foundation, Inc., was formed and Childhood Learning Centers were established to provide those services to Louisiana's children.
