Dr. John Tetnowski, a University of Louisiana at Lafayette Distinguished Professor, was selected as the 2016 Summer Commencement keynote speaker. Dr. Tetnowski is a professor in the Communicative Disorders department where he is the Ben Blanco Endowed Professor and the graduate coordinator for the Ph.D. program. Dr. Tetnowski holds the Board Certification of Specialist in fluency disorders, and has over 25 years of clinical experience in treating children, teens, and adults with fluency disorders. He centered his speech on lessons he has learned doing work and research on stuttering, mentioning several motivating stories involving people who stuttered that included a physician, a former Mr. Universe, and a young girl from Africa.
